This lesson features introductory warm-up portrait sketches and examines the functionality of the pencil. In addition, we will delve into the basics of shading by practicing fundamental value transitions.

Week 2: PROPORTIONS OF THE FACE
In this lesson, you'll learn facial guidelines for head proportions and the placements of key features like the centerline, eyes, nose, and mouth, which are essential for realistic portraits. A hands-on exercise will help you recognize these guidelines, followed by sphere shading exercises to enhance your shading skills.

WEEK 3: DRAWING EYES
In Portrait Drawing, eyes are vital for expressing individuality and emotion. This lesson will cover the eye's anatomy, including the eye socket and iris, and introduce Plane Value Shading through a cast study of the Statue of David’s eye.
